I’ve been living in the greater Syracuse area since 1990. I was four years old when my family moved here. Over the last thirty years or so of blizzards, basketball games, live music, hiking, scenic drives, and general rabble-rousing, I’ve learned something about the area. Syracuse has heart. It is an area that is proud of it’s natural beauty, proud of its college, and proud of the many impassioned individuals who call it home. This shows up on days like yesterday. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade has always been a popular event, and many locals will participate regardless of petty details like heavy snowfall and temperatures below zero(with the wind chill that is.) I decided to head over and snap a few pictures before my beard froze to my face and I could no longer operate the shutter button due to numb fingers. The turnout was no doubt impacted by the extreme conditions, but the people that were out and about seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was totally out of my element(as a photographer), so some of these photos are blurry and some are just bad, but I had fun and that’s what matters… right?

(All photos taken with Fujifilm XPro-2 & 23mm F2.0. The only reason I bring it up is because this setup is advertised as weather resistant. It certainly is.)
